Kadoma shooting: US$50 bail for the accused

each, reside at their given addresses and to report to police once a week. Onward Chiwara, Nyasha Munangwa, Sam Gwavava, Tobias Mandiringana, John Muzii and Peter Mavhonde were denied bail.
In his judgment, Justice Musakwa noted that Mandiringana, Muzii, and Mavhonde fired arms which may or may not have caused injuries in the melee. He noted that Chiwara, Munangwa and Gwavava went to the mine while armed with a court order to evict the owner, Mr Rushwaya.
“The order should have been served by the Deputy Sherrif. It is not clear what they intended to do with the order.”
It is the State’s case that last month, the suspects sought to unlawfully evict Mr Rushwaya and his workers from Talrose Mine. They allegedly indis­criminately shot at a crowd of people causing the death of Shepherd Mpofu and injuries to Tauya Mungisi and Nyasha Mapako.
