The United States of America (USA) is looking forward to scaling up trade and economic cooperation with Zimbabwe.

This was said by US Ambassador to Zimbabwe Pamela Tremont after paying a courtesy call on Acting President Dr Constantino Chiwenga at his offices in Harare this morning.
This thawing of relations between Zimbabwe and the USA and envisaged boom in trade could further give impetus to Zimbabwe’s engagement and re-engagement drive.

“There are a few US companies (here and) we would like to see it increase dramatically,” said Ambassador Tremont.
“Of course, there is a trade gap with Zimbabwe exporting a lot more to the US than what the US exports to Zimbabwe which is great for this country.
“We are happy for Zimbabwe in that respect but obviously more trade is better.”
