LOVERS in Gwanda have been offered a unique opportunity to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a unique function at one of the lodges as the traditional love month spread its roses into the air.
Apex Lodge Valentine’s Dinner organiser Thandolwenkosi Ndlovu said the festivities would be meant for couples and individuals and would be held in the evening.
“We intend to offer Gwanda a taste of class as they celebrate the day of love with a romantic dinner at affordable prices. The event is on the 14th of February from 6pm to 9:3pm. The event will be held under the theme, ‘Love is just a word until someone comes along and give it a meaning’,” she said.
Ndlovu said a romantic dinner would be on the cards and interested couples should start booking as the deadline was fast approaching.
Lindokuhle Mdlongwa, who also partnered with Apex Lodge said there would be offering three-course meals at the lodge and would reward best dressed couples with lots of love games on the day with a red carpet setup to light up the event.
Local prominent outdoor nightspot, Gwanda Leisure Centre popularly known as the Mkhekhelezi Hideout will host a pre-gig for the 2018 Valentine’ Bash. The show set to take place on February 9 will feature prominent local young artistes Zhenzhingtons, Bhadilah, Gda fire, Bry and many more. The Ultimate Miss Valentine’s Gwanda 3rd edition will also take place.
Organiser of the show Zibusiso Maphosa under the mZEventechniques promoters said for a first, the audience will vote for their favourite models through the social media.
“For the first time since its inception patrons would be able to vote for their favourite models live and before the event through social media platforms so the youth should come and enjoy in a technological environment. Lots of prizes are to be won thus people should flock in their numbers and get in a Valentine’s mood before the day comes” he said.
Manager of the Yellow Door bar, a recent opened cuisine spot on the outskirts of Gwanda, Mr Mhlanga also promised revellers a night to remember with the lined up activities. The activities lined up are set to lure patrons from the mining town as was the case during the festive season.
“We are still finalising our line-up list with the management in South Africa expected to contribute also on the line-up. As it was during the festive season, the place will be filled with lots of entertainment and specials” he said.
Champions in Arts Showcasing Talent (Cast), a talent search and promotion show that promotes all arts talents from Acting, Dancing, Poetry, Singing, Instruments playing, Fine arts and Crafts, D Deejaying and any form of talent performed will be launching a “Friday show” as from February 9 in development of arts as part of the celebrations in the month of love.
The programme will be running every Friday live at Jahunda Community Hall as an initiative for the development of the arts in Gwanda.
Local joint Cry Reubegwane, Reuben has also promised a Valentine’s to remember as prominent Bulawayo dance groups are set to perform. The show kicks off at 6pm.-@mthabisi_mthire.
