What is Valentine’s Day without soulful music?

Lovers – who are also Jazz music fanatics are set to be treated to a gig of a lifetime as celebrated Jazz legend Jeys Marabini is inviting them to join him in celebrating love at an intimate gig to be held on Valentine’s Day (February 14) at Crystal night club.

The leader of the Kozekulunge band will be joined on stage by the club’s regular performer Prosper Tshuma with Smart Birds Band – at a gig which will have Golden Pilsener as the prime beer for the night.

Marabini who released his tenth album last year said he is honoured to be the headlining act at a show which promises to be filled with intimacy and love.

He said love is a beautiful thing and it has to be celebrated everyday despite Valentine’s Day being the prime date on the calendar that is set aside to celebrate it.

“Love is a beautiful thing. We are living today because of love and we have to cherish it every day, for without it we are lost. Love promotes peace at home, and it also cultivates good relations amongst friends and even at work, proving it is a vital thing in our lives.

“As we celebrate Valentine’s Day today, I would like to invite those who believe in love to come and join us at Crystal tonight as I will be staging a show alongside Prosper. The evening will be entirely about celebrating love be it between partners or friends.

“This will be an intimate session as I will belt out love songs to keep Valentine’s mood alive. I will also do Marabini’s signature songs and we will also tolerate special requests from the revelers as the evening will all be about them,” said Marabini.

Sky, who is the marketing consultant at Crystal said they crafted the gig to give lovers and Jazz followers a show to remember. She said the event will be a place to be as there will be specials on various drinks.

“Crystal has always hosted Jazz nights which are headlined by Prosper and the Smart Birds Band. As it is Valentine’s Day, we saw it fit to give our spectators a show that they will always remember, hence, we settled for Marabini to be our main act.

“Jeys Marabini is a respected figure in the music industry who has done justice in the Afro Pop scene with numerous songs that constantly reminds people to cherish love always.

“He is a fit man to headline a show that celebrates love as he is a favourite and celebrated by many in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and beyond. We will be having different specials on food and drinks so as to accommodate our patrons,” said Sky.
