Veteran Masvingo educationist appointed head at Junior High School

An elite Masvingo private school, Junior High School has appointed veteran educationist Mr Stern Mtsambiwa as the new headmaster beginning January this year.

The appointment of Mr Mtsambiwa comes as the schools has recorded a 100 percent pass rate in the 2024 ‘A’ level Cambridge examinations for the second year running.

Mr Mtsambiwa earned acclaim in education circles across Masvingo province after superintending over high pass rates at Gokomere and Silveira High schools over the past 15 years before he retired.

His joining of Junior High School is billed to position the Masvingo city-domiciled private school as a pacesetter in education.

Junior High School director Mr Noah Marima says his institution wants to building on its excellent track record in exceptional pass rate in Cambridge examinations.

“We have a new leader of our team who we hope will take Junior High to the next level of becoming a top-notch international school where students are not only proficient in theory but also in practicals in line with Education 5.0,” said Mr Marima.

Junior High for the second year in row recorded 100 percent pass rate at Advanced level. All the 35 students who sat for their ‘A’ level Cambridge examinations passed with the majority scoring between 13 and 15 points.

Most of the students who did well scored high grades is science subjects namely Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

This has solidified Junior High school’s growing status as a colossus in the teaching of science subjects especially at ‘A’ level.

The school earned acclaim when it opened in 2022 by becoming the first in offering an academic menu that includes driving lessons to all its students.
