ZIMBABWEAN professional golfer Scott Vincent will make his second appearance at The Open Golf Championships at Royal Brickdale in Southport, England, this morning.
The 34-year-old made his first appearance in 2022 where he missed the cut.
Vincent will be making his third career Major start this week and second in the Open Championship.
He qualified for this year’s edition at Royal Birkdale by ranking fifth on the International Federation list that identifies competitive international players competing on select tours, including the Asian Tour.
Vincent has six career wins, including two on the Asian Tour’s International Series.
He claimed the 2025 International Series title to gain entry into LIV Golf this season, beginning the season as a Wild Card, but has featured for HyFlyers GC in the last four tournaments.
He competes across multiple major circuits, including the Asian Tour, the Japan Golf Tour, and LIV Golf.
The 154th edition of The Open Championship will see several top golfers taking to the field.
Vincent will tee off at 9:36am along with American Stewart Cink and Swedish Joakim Lagergren.
The Open Championship has turned into a battle with the elements.
Recent Royal Birkdale Opens have been no different.
When the Southport venue last staged the game’s oldest championship in 2017, play was briefly suspended during the second round because of heavy wind and rain.
This week, however, it is shaping up to be a much different test, with firm and fiery conditions expected at a sun-baked Birkdale.
