THE streets of Bulawayo will on Saturday transform into a vibrant catwalk as Welshman Sibanda known as Welsh the Stylist and his team presents the highly anticipated Vintage Parade.
The spectacular event promises to transport attendees back in time, showcasing the city’s rich fashion heritage and celebrating the art of vintage style.
The Vintage Parade will feature a stunning array of vintage fashion, with participants modelling outfits from the 1920s to the 1990s.
Event organiser Welsh the Stylist said people should expect to see flapper dresses, pinstripe suits, and iconic designer pieces, all carefully curated to highlight the best of each era.
“The goal is to create an annual event that celebrates vintage culture, bringing together people from all walks of life.
“We want to provide a platform for self-expression, creativity, and community engagement,” said Welsh the Stylist.
Inspired by existing vintage fashion and lifestyle groups, Welsh the Stylist and his team have united over 200 members from various locations, including Khazin Culture, Vintage Movement, Makhokhoba Vintage Movement, Vintage Nation, Cotton Eaters, and Gabz Fire.
This collective effort aims to showcase the rich tapestry of vintage fashion and lifestyle in Bulawayo.
“The vintage parade is more than just a fashion statement, it’s also a social responsibility initiative as we are giving back to the community in a way, advocating for the younger generation to abstain from drugs, violence by impacting them with different skills such as modelling, designing and many more.”
“It will be a day to remember, jaw dropping moments, we have people as far from plumtree and Gwanda to show us how it’s done.
“It will be the clash of titans because definitely the looks will be extraordinary,” he said.
Notable figures from various sectors in the entertainment industry will be in attendance, providing a unique opportunity for networking and collaboration.
