A VIOLENT storm yesterday wreaked havoc along the Mutare-Penhalonga Road, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

Three men traveling in a Toyota Granvia narrowly escaped death when a huge tree fell on their vehicle.

The incident caused extensive damage to the vehicle, but the occupants miraculously escaped without major injuries.

The storm also severely impacted the light industrial area opposite Hillcrest College, commonly known as paMupostori, where several temporary structures were extensively damaged.

Residents and business owners in the area are now assessing the full extent of the damage to their properties.

Authorities have urged motorists and pedestrians be vigilant and exercise caution at all times during the rainy season.
