CONTENT creation is the big business the world over, with people earning millions through harvesting material that appeals to the masses.
Vloggers, known for harvesting and sharing refreshingly new videos online, continue to make a killing.
One such vlogger doing well is Gershom Makombe, who is making waves overseas.
Better known as Giggs, the youthful content creator is living his dream.
To say Giggs has finally realised his dream is an understatement. Maybe fulfilment of the heart’s desire is the better phrase to explain how he has made it to the top.
He can easily meet the levels set by other vloggers like NashTV, DJ Sparks, Holy Ten among others.
In Giggs’ case, he is simply following his passion.
But who is this vlogger?
“My name is Gershom Makombe but people call me Giggs, which is why the channel is named giggssVlogs.
“I was born in Bedford, United Kingdom, in 2005.”
“Currently, I am in university studying Finance and Accounting.
“I haven’t got wild dreams in life but all I know is I don’t want to be like everyone. I aim to achieve greater goals, which is why I have started vlogging and with that, I am going to start different things really soon,” he said.
Giggs’ life was made easier with the backing and blessing of his parents.
“My dad has been telling me to start vlogging for years to share my experiences but, I guess, it wasn’t time yet.
“It was when he saw me on someone else’s vlog that he told me to pursue it, and here we are.”
Despite settling overseas, Giggs has had a good experience with his roots.
“My first experience in Zimbabwe was a year back and it was a very different experience because it was my first time in Africa and the vibe was way different from England.
“The sun was continuously beating down and people were in such a good vibe.
“I cherished the fact that I got to see where my parents grew up and the challenges they overcame.
“I found Zimbabwe really exciting and relaxing, it was a well-needed breather from the type of society we live in England. There is a different type of comfort when you are in Zimbabwe.”
Like any other youthful content creator who is destined for the stars, Giggs has special advice to those following in his footsteps.
“Whatever you want to do, just do it and don’t look back, we only live once in life.
“So don’t worry about what the masses say behind your back, they will be the first ones to congratulate you when you succeed.”
Giggs, who has become an internet sensation in a short space of time, operates on a shoe-string budget and still produces desired results.
“For Vlogging, I use a DJI professional camera and I use a MacBook to edit the vlogs.”
Giggs’ fairy tale is that of a youngster who has shown innovation and realised his dream through the backing of his parents.
