VP Chiwenga arrives in Victoria Falls for SADC Energy Week

VICE President Dr Constantino Chiwenga has arrived in Victoria Falls to officially open the second edition of the SADC Sustainable Energy Week (SEW) on Wednesday.

He was received at the Elephant Hills Hotel by Matabeleland North Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Richard Moyo, SADC Executive Secretary His Excellency Mr Elias M. Magosi, and Ministers Dr Evelyn Ndlovu, July Moyo, and Monica Mutsvangwa.

Deputy Ministers Dr Caleb Makwiranzou, Raj Modi,  Yeukai Simbanegavi, and Omphile Marupi, alongside other senior Government officials, were also present to welcome the Vice President.

The high-level event, running under the theme “Driving Regional Economic Growth through Clean Energy and Energy Efficiency,” brings together SADC Energy Ministers and international delegates.

Tomorrow’s programme features the official opening ceremony, followed by the Ministerial High-level Policy Deliberations.

The day will culminate in a Cultural Dinner and Awards Ceremony, recognising outstanding regional energy projects.

The week aims to foster investment and cooperation in sustainable energy across the region.
