FOOTBALL and music have been an inseparable entity since time immemorial characterised especially by the 12th man chanting, singing and cheering the team on.

Lately, everyone has been singing Highlanders Football Club’s praises including the President himself who congratulated Bosso for a mean footballing streak that has seen the Bulawayo outfit go for 18 matches unbeaten.

Football coaching royalty, Jose Mourinho could not be left out as his protégé, Bosso’s coach, Blatermar Brito at the helm of the club, has steered Bosso to the top of the league.

Now, singing sensation Vusa Mkhaya has released a humdinger to praise Bosso.

The song featuring South African singer, Freddy Gwala is titled, “Highlanders ekaMatshobana” and promises to be a hit among the Bosso faithful.

The song, available on diverse digital music stores talks about the essence of the fans in making Bosso a great club and also how the club has been the pride of Bulawayo for long.

Vusa Mkhaya and Freddy Gwala have married art with sport, an incredible feat. Gwala’s love for Bosso has been seen in him releasing a song, Tshilamoya about the club which has even been sung at Barbourfields Stadium by fans.

Mkhaya, based in Austria said he hopes their song will be well-received.

“We have released the song with joy and hope the fans will also enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it,” he said.

With such attention showered at Bosso, it remains to be seen whether that will snap a barren spell of not having a league, a monkey that has been on the club’s back since 2006. – @MbuleloMpofu
