JOHANNESBURG. – Two more PSL clubs have entered the race for JDR Stars winger Ishmael Wadi who is already being targeted by giants Kaizer Chiefs.
The speedy forward, Ishmael Wadi, has been the highest scoring Zimbabwean on the South African football landscape.
And his performances have rightly attracted interests from top PSL clubs that include Amakhosi, Amazulu and Sekhukhune.
Wadi has been a shining beacon for the modest Motsepe Foundation outfit, JDR Stars, with 11 goals under his belt.
AmaZulu and Chiefs have previously been linked with the 30-year-old former CAPS United winger but nothing materialised.
However, the race for his signature is likely to be intriguing after his manager further revealed that two PSL clubs based in Cape Town are also interested.
The agent, John of Royal Bridge Industries said Stellenbosch FC and Cape Town City are also angling for Wadi’s services.
“The two clubs from Cape Town, that is Cape Town City and Stellenbosch are also interested,” he said.
“Of course, no club has an advantage over any other but there’s been so much interest for the player.
“He has done great for his club and he is an asset. They will probably want to further offer him something but he prefers a new challenge.
“At the moment we are not rushing anything. We have to be clever because we have to get a club where our client will be able to establish himself.”
Wadi has been the best performer at JDR Stars, and certainly among the best in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
With 11 goals under his belt, Wadi is among the likes of Ashley Cupido, Boitumelo Radiopane, who have been a cut above the rest.
Last season, he managed nine goals. – FARPost
