Marondera District War Veterans’ Association has hailed a local liquid fertiliser company, Itmosci Nutriology for drilling a borehole at their office as a way of celebrating freedom fighters who sacrificed themselves for Zimbabwe’s independence.

The company also made this year’s Heroes celebrations in Marondera district unique by providing grocery hampers to the widows of war veterans. In an interview, Marondera District War Veterans’ Association chairperson Rtd Major Daniel Matengu, said they were happy with the gesture.

“We have been operating at this office without running water for years and we had lost any hope of getting water until this company came to our rescue,” he said.

Itmosci Nutriology managing director Mr Ignatious Mateveke said they joined the nation and the President in commemorating the special day by drilling a borehole at the war vets’ offices.
