War vets children group

Children of Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association is expected to be launched in the capital tomorrow.

In an interview, the association’s secretary for political affairs, Cde Godfrey Chibanda called upon all children born to liberation fighters to attend the grand event.
“We want to mobilise all children of war veterans across Zimbabwe to be part of the fold so that we safeguard the spirit of the liberation struggle,” said Cde Chibanda.

“We also implore those that might have been lured probably by money and joined other political parties to come back and rejoin Zanu-PF.”
He urged his colleagues to rally behind Zanu-PF in the forthcoming election set for July 31, saying it was the only party that could preserve their aspirations. Cde Chibanda said they would move around all provinces mobilising children of war veterans so that they throw their weight behind Zanu-PF .

Association’s national executive committee member, Mr Donald Chimhofu said it was critical that children of war veterans come together to discuss issues that affect them.
“There are issues to do with employment, empowerment among others, so we need to come together and discuss these things,” said Cde Chimhofu.
