Warriors face Super Eagles and Fans as Governor buys all tickets for World Cup tie

THE Warriors who face Nigeria in a Group C World Cup tie in Uyo in the West African country on Tuesday will be up against the Super Eagles and fans as Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno bought all the 30,000 tickets.

Both teams need three points to keep their World Cup ambitions alive.
South Africa lead the group with 10 points while the Warriors have a paltry three and Nigeria six.

The match will be played at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium at 6pm.
According to Blueprint, a newspaper in that State, Pastor Umo Eno has bought all the tickets. They were reduced to US$0.65 to allow a hostile environment to exist for the visitors.

This gesture was contained in a statement issued by the Honourable Commissioner for Sports
Akwa Ibom State, Elder Paul Bassey on Monday.

The government noted that the gesture is to encourage citizens and residents of the state to come out en masse and cheer the Super Eagles to victory.
The statement reads: “In line with his determination and promise to mobilise support for the victory of the Super Eagles of Nigeria against the Warriors of Zimbabwe, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has purchased 30,000 tickets for football fans and supporters ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualification match scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

“Consequently, fans are to note the following: The tickets are FREE. Do not BUY tickets from anybody. No persons will be permitted entry into the stadium without tickets, tickets will not be distributed at the stadium. Fans without tickets should not be found within the stadium vicinity, fans in the stadium must be orderly and must abide by the seating arrangements and instructions as would be announced by the organisers.

“All Fifa/Caf/NFF rules bordering on the organization of international football matches would be strictly adhered to.
“Security agencies have been put on notice to ensure strict compliance to all the aforementioned.” the statement added.– blueprint.ng/Sports Reporter
