Warriors hold upper hand in Cosafa

FOR now the Zimbabwe Warriors can easily claim the a�?goata�? a�� Greatest Of All Time tag as they go into battle at the Cosafa Castle Cup in Namibia.

The Warriors surely have the bragging rights and Zambia can lay claim to being the second best team at the tournament.

The Cosafa Castle Cup came into existence in 1997 and a good look at the combined log that features team statistics for the past 19 years of the tournament, ZimbabweA� heads the table.

With 30 victories from 35 matches where eight were draws and only seven were losses, Zimbabwe is the team to beat.

Zimbabwe also lead the goal scoring charts with 72 hitting the net and over the years, goalkeepers that have done duty for the Warriors let in 32 goals.

Zambia comes in second with 24 wins from the same number of games as Zimbabwe- 45. Chipolopolo as Zambia are known have 16 draws and lost only six matches.

South Africa comes in at number three having played 35 games registering 18 wins.A� They have scored 42 goals, not too much to write home about there, but conceded only 19, a fine defensive record.
