CALM BEFORE THE STORM…

Warriors officials, led by the Chief Director of Sport in the Ministry of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture Eugenia Chidhakwa (third from left) paid a courtesy call on Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom Christian Katsande (fourth from left) hours before Zimbabwe’s Unity Cup semi-final showdown with Nigeria.

The officials included (from left) Masvingo province chairman and vice-chairman of the competitions committee Nabioth Magwizi, board member Kudzai Kadzombe, Kwekwe United president Bridget Madhosi, Women’s Soccer League leader Chido Chizondo and Brighton Ushendibaba, who is also the head of delegation on this mission.

Ambassador Katsande urged the Warriors to be a regular feature of the Unity Cup, which he felt gives players exposure.

He expressed his hopes that Wales, who were part of the tournament before, could also return.

AmbassadorKatsande also commended the Diaspora Insurance for hosting the Warriors in Birmingham, saying this helped to connect the team with Zimbaweans living in the United Kingdom.
