Washaya wins bronze

he settled for a credible bronze medal in the triple jump on April 27 with a jump of 14.43m, 40cm shy of his personal best.
Washaya was part of the World Wide Scholarships Academy team of five athletes who were under the guidance of coach and the academy’s director Munya Maraire.
The other athletes in the team were Dumezweni Dube, who was placed third the triple jump event, Tatenda Tsumba (seventh in long jump), and another long jumper Sakhile Donga.
Coach Maraire could not hide his excitement after Washaya won a bronze medal for his WWS Academy team in the the triple jump event at the Penn Relays.

“We have had many talented athletes who have shown a lot of promise but to have a young man who is focused is hard to find.”
