HIGHLANDERS would feel let down by themselves as they head into the break of their midweek encounter against Agama tied 0-0.
The Bulawayo giants enjoyed most of the possession in the first stanza but could not convert their dominance to goals, wasting numerous chances.
Bosso nearly had an early breakthrough when Royn Nyamondo sent in a brilliant cross into the box which Benjamin Adeogun failed to properly connect with, sending his effort wide for a goal kick.
In the 10th minute, Bosso came close again when Andrew Mbeba sent in yet another brilliant cross from the right flank which met an unmarked Mongameli Tshuma inside the box. The skillful attacker, however, had his shot saved by Wilson Brown in goals for Agama.
Moments later, a loose ball fell onto Rainsome Pavari’s path, just outside the box but the midfielder’s one-time effort went over the bar.
Agama had a golden chance to break the deadlock in the 16th minute through a defensive error between Lawrence Mhlanga and the goalkeeper, Aron Ngwenya.
Moments later, Siphephelo Philiso tested Ngwenya from a distance but the Bosso shot-stopper was equal to the task.
The hosts continued their search for the opener and a Mbeba free kick sent into the danger zone in the 21st minute met no takers.
In the 24th minute, Tshuma’s shot from inside the box went just wide off goal.
Agama wasted yet another chance when an unmarked Bernard Chipanera sent his effort over the bar from inside the box.
With just under 10 minutes left before the break, a brilliant interchange of play between Mbeba and Tshuma on the right flank saw the former sent a grass cutting cross which Pavari could not properly connect with.
Tshuma got yet another chance to fire Bosso into the lead after receiving a brilliant cross from Adeogun but his effort was saved by Brown.
