A BULAWAYO man has defied the odds, graduating with a jaw-dropping 20 distinctions in his degree studies.
Tsepang Thembani Nare (31), a former King George VI Centre student, walked away from the Midlands State University (MSU) graduation ceremony as one of the top performers, bagging three awards for his stellar academic record.
Nare, who uses a motorised wheelchair, obtained a BSc (Honours) in Local Governance and Management and says his journey was not without hurdles.
“I faced challenges, but I never allowed them to stop me. My dream is to continue learning and uplifting lives, especially for people living with disabilities,” he said in an interview on Tuesday.
The academic star now plans to pursue a Master’s degree in the same field as he pushes to make a difference in communities.
Nare’s educational journey started at King George VI Centre, where he studied from 1998 until 2012.
