The City of Bulawayo has scooped the Best Local Authority Stand at the prestigious Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbanayi World Tourism Expo held in Mutare.
Bulawayo City Council (BCC) Economic Development Officer, Mr Kholisani Moyo, said the judges were particularly impressed by the city’s well-curated and authentic exhibition.
“The judges were so impressed by the story line that we were showcasing the wealth and culture of Bulawayo,” said Mr Moyo.
Early in the week, Mr Moyo expressed excitement over the city’s participation at the expo, noting that the local authority was proud to tell Bulawayo’s unique story on such a prominent platform.
He added that the council was strategically leveraging Bulawayo’s rich historical and cultural heritage to craft a compelling tourism narrative, aimed at attracting both local and international visitors.
“We are excited to exhibit and share what Bulawayo has to offer,” he said.
The annual tourism showcase brought together stakeholders from across the region, providing a platform to promote destination marketing, cultural exchange, and investment in the tourism sector.
