DRAMA is brewing in the Dynamos camp as the club’s Bulawayo Chapter supporters have sensationally boycotted this weekend’s blockbuster clash against old foes CAPS United at Rufaro Stadium!
In a move that’s sent shockwaves through the blue half of Harare, DeMbare’s usually vocal Bulawayo fans gathered at the Zimbabwe Saints Club, not to prepare for match day festivities, but to announce a hard-hitting protest.
Their message? Loud and clear: “Down with Bernard Marriott!”
The supporters accuse the long-time board chairman of turning the Glamour Boys into his personal fiefdom, monopolising control and ignoring the voices of the rank and file.
“We love our team, but we cannot keep quiet while the club is hijacked,” said one furious fan clad in blue. “This is a message to Marriott—enough is enough!”
While they vow to continue supporting Dynamos from a distance, the boycott marks a rare public uprising from a regional supporters group—raising eyebrows and questions over the deepening cracks in the club’s leadership.
The CAPS United tie, usually a high-octane affair laced with history and passion, will now miss a crucial piece of the DeMbare puzzle: the thunderous chants of the Bulawayo faithful.
As Dynamos prepare to face their eternal rivals, the rift between fans and boardroom threatens to overshadow what should be a footballing spectacle.
Is this the beginning of a full-blown supporters’ revolt? Or will the Harare giants patch things up before it’s too late? Stay tuned, this soap opera is far from over.
