CHICKEN INN have thrown down the gauntlet with a sizzling first-half performance, leading Dynamos 2–0 at Emagumeni in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash that’s turning into a nightmare for the Harare giants.
New signing Lynoth Chikuhwa, loaned in from Scottland during the transfer window, broke the deadlock in the 21st minute with a clinical strike inside the box that left Dynamos keeper Tatenda Makoni sprawling.
The Gamecocks kept pecking and three minutes before the break, Mpumelelo Bhebhe doubled the lead with a simple tap-in after a pinpoint George Majika corner.
Dynamos looked flat despite enjoying moments of dominance. Wisdom Mtasa missed a sitter in the 14th minute, while Shadreck Nyahwa and Emmanuel Jalai created chances that went begging. Mtasa also fluffed a free header after a quality delivery from Nyahwa.
Chicken Inn almost went ahead earlier through Majika, but the goal was disallowed after Malvin Hwata was adjudged to have handled in the build-up.
The Bulawayo side could have had more, with Hwata missing an open net just before the break after rounding the goalkeeper and blazing over.
Despite the scoreline, Dynamos fans stayed loud and proud, backing their boys to claw back in the second half — but they’ll need a miracle turnaround.
Can the Glamour Boys avoid humiliation, or will Chicken Inn serve up a second-half feast? Stay tuned!
