HIGHLANDERS’ gaffer Kelvin Kaindu is not taking any chances. With Barbourfields set to host Herentals College this Sunday in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Week 13 showdown, the Bosso boss is bracing for war, even if he’s limping into it.
Speaking to journalists on Thursday, the Zambian tactician admitted the black-and-white machine is revving, albeit with warning lights on the dashboard.
Captain Fantastic Ariel Sibanda? Still in the garage.
Midfield dynamo Talent Dube? Doubtful.
“Talent has been one of our most reliable engines this season,” Kaindu said with a sigh. “We’re giving him every chance to prove his fitness. Fingers crossed.”
But it’s not all doom and gloom in Bosso land. There’s a spark of hope as Gillian Nyathi and Archford Faira, both recently sidelined, are showing signs of bouncing back.
“We’re happy with their progress. Getting them back would lift the whole squad,” Kaindu added.
The Herentals clash promises fireworks. Known for their stubborn, tactical football, the Students have often been Bosso’s bogey team and Kaindu knows they won’t be coming to Bulawayo for sightseeing.
With Highlanders still in the PSL title race, every match counts, especially at home.
