Motorsport and music fanatics are gathered at ZKS Spinners Arena in Bulawayo, where they are celebrating the nation’s heroes through drifting, spinning, dance and music.
The family fun event which started at 2pm, is lit with a fire combo of music, car spinning and drifting, horse riding and even ostrich viewing.
The venue did not only turn into a music lover’s paradise, but a full-blown tourism hotspot, as some of the spectators who came all the way from as far as the United Kingdom, South Africa, Zambia and Botswana, had an appreciation of viewing the Khami Ruins, which are a stone’s throw away from the arena.
Notable exhibitors at the venue are the Khami prisons – with inmates selling different hand made products and farm produces. Umahlekisa Comedy Club is also in attendance.
So far, spinners who have showcased their drifting and spinning skills are AK 47, Mac D, Amakhosi, The Rock, and King Fly.
Multi-award-winning Tshibilika music group Insimbi ZeZhwane are expected to be the major highlight of the gig as they are set to perform at nearly 3 000 people gathered at the arena.
Zakhele Mlilo from ZKS Spinners Arena, said they have cooked up an event that is more than a concert.
“It is more than just spinning and music. People came in their numbers to celebrate our heroes who dedicated their life to make Zimbabwe free. We have so much to be grateful for today as we are enjoying the freedom of spinning, dance and music together, not only at the arena but also at different national gatherings,” said Mlilo.
