South Africa’s most sought-after gospel ensemble, Spirit of Praise (SOP), has finally released visuals for the powerful live track “Ekhaya/Sizohamba”, featuring Zimbabwean gospel minister Everton Mlalazi.

The song is a standout single from the Spirit of Praise 11: Next Level album, which was officially released on October 3 last year. The release of the song on May 2 comes at a time when Mlalazi is preparing to host the second edition of the Ekhaya Worship Festival, scheduled for Africa Day (May 25) at Hartsfield Rugby Ground in Bulawayo.

This year’s edition will be held in an outdoor setting to accommodate an expected crowd of over 15 000 worshippers. Apart from host Mlalazi, other artistes set to take to the stage include South Africa’s Zaza Mokhethi, Dumi Mkokstad, Oncemore Six, Canaan Nyathi, and acappella group Reality 7, renowned for fusing contemporary gospel with traditional isicathamiya sounds.

The event will also feature performances by Dunamis Men, Nkosi Herman, Vusa Mangena, Conquerors, Pastor Barak Family, Zimpraise, Family Voices, Mai Mwamuka, Lorraine Maplanka, Vocal Ex and Blessing Jeduthun, Loveness Mukutirwa, Mwenda Shimunzhila, iWorship Zim, and Tehillah Testament, among others.
