IN a romantic gesture that left onlookers in awe, Ethel Chigwende (23) was surprised with a Valentine’s Day gift at the Highgate Shopping Complex in Bulawayo’s Central Business District on Friday morning.
The surprise was orchestrated by her boyfriend of nine months, only identified as Micky, who was unable to be there in person due to work commitments.
As Ethel went about her day, she was suddenly serenaded by a saxophonist who appeared out of nowhere, playing her favourite love song.
The musician was part of a delegation sent by Micky, who had also enlisted the help of Ethel’s siblings to deliver a heartfelt gift and love message.
Overcome with emotion, Ethel was drenched in love and joy, shedding tears of happiness as she read the heartfelt message from her boyfriend.
“I love you with all my heart,” the message read.
The thoughtful gesture left Ethel feeling special and loved.
“I was completely caught off guard and I had no idea Micky had planned something so special. It just shows how much he cares about me and our relationship,” she said.
“I love him so much and I can tell that he is the one.”
As the saxophonist continued to play, Ethel’s siblings looked on, happy to have been a part of the surprise.
The romantic gesture was a testament to the power of love and creativity and it left a lasting impression on all who witnessed it.
