PRINCE Dube has declared that he is at Tanzanian club Azam to score goals and ensure the team competes for accolades.

Speaking to journalists on Monday when he was officially unveiled as an Azam player after passing his medical assessment, the Warriors striker said he was pleased to join the Tanzanians and wanted to play a part in helping the club win trophies.

“I am happy, I just want to come here and add value, help the team compete for trophies, every chance that I get, score goals,’’ he said.

Asked if he had any knowledge of the Tanzanian league, the 23-year old said he did keep an eye on the East African’s nation football since Bruce Kangwa moved to that country in 2016.

“My brother Bruce Kangwa came here, it’s been some years, I’ve got big knowledge, I think it’s one of the biggest leagues in Africa so I am happy to come here and I can’t wait to get the season started. I just want to score goals, I am a striker so I have to score goals, be ready for everything and help the team,” he said.

Despite spending big on players over the years, Azam, founded in 2007 last won the Tanzanian Premier League in 2014. The Warriors striker declared that he is ready to help Azam end their championship drought.

Dube becomes the fifth Zimbabwean to play for Azam, with the others being Kangwa, Never Tigere, with the two still at the club as well as the duo of Francisco Zekumbawira and Donald Ngoma who have since left the free spenders.
