SCOTTLAND FC president Pedzisai “Scot” Sakupwanya has tipped his cap to MWOS, acknowledging the fierce challenge they have given his star-studded side in this season’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

With just two games left, Scottland have already wrapped up the 2025 league title, but Scot says the journey would not have been the same without their intense rivalry with MWOS — a duel that stretches back to their days in the Northern Region Division One League.

“I want to tell you the truth, MWOS have played good football. Look, we played together in Division One and when we got promoted to the league, we bought players and MWOS didn’t. They used the same Division One squad,” said Scot in an interview that has since gone viral on social media.
The outspoken businessman and football boss said he also wants to give credit where it is due within his own camp.

“I want to thank my coach Tonderayi Ndiraya, he worked hard. Truth be told, when I got the news that we had beaten MWOS 1-0 in our second leg PSL match, I was so happy. I actually threw a party,” he said.
Scot believes the rise of Scottland and MWOS has disrupted the old football order.

“In fact Scottland and MWOS have changed the country’s football landscape. A number of teams are down there. Look at Dynamos, Highlanders and CAPS United. I think this has never happened in the history of Zimbabwean football,” he said.

With the league title now secured, Scottland FC will represent Zimbabwe in the CAF Champions League next year, where they hope to make an even bigger statement on the continent.

The rivalry continues. The spotlight remains hot.
