Sometimes we need to ask ourselves this fundamental question: Why does it all matter?
Surely, there is a reason we strive to take this great nation forward.
Every effort we have put to uplift this nation matters.
We have made a lot of progress and must ensure that we do not regress. Progress is the only choice we have. We need to come to terms with why it is important to work for the nation.
Knowing what is at stake
Knowing what is at stake is what will ensure that we all contribute to develop our country.
We cannot build this nation if we do not know what is at stake.
And there is a lot at stake; there always has been.
The fight for our independence was to ensure self-determination.
Comrades who made the bold and selfless decision to free our nation were convinced that it was all worth the sacrifice.
This is what we should all emulate.
Zimbabweans from all walks of life should endeavour to ensure that our nation meets its goals.
A nation is its people.
Zimbabweans are known for being hard workers.
Our people never waste a good opportunity to make progress.
We, however, should not waver but keep pursuing things that matter to us the most.
Our people have struggled for the longest time.
We should put our efforts on those issues that are worth fighting for.
Some are lost causes and there is no need to waste time and energy on them.
It is tragic that oftentimes we have comrades who concentrate on minor issues and expend all their energy on what is immaterial.
Focusing too much on issues that do not matter delays our own progress as a people.
This has been one of the challenges our people have been facing.
Whenever we are on the brink of a major breakthrough, there are individuals who try to frustrate our progress by hoodwinking our people and distracting them from the real issues that matter.
We should put more energy on issues that matter.
But it has to be appreciated that we cannot achieve all our aspirations at one go. Setbacks do not mean the task is impossible.
Let us not be our own enemies.
Our goals are attainable.
Focusing on issues of national importance must be the order of the day.
No one is without responsibility to the national cause.
We should all have the fealty and patriotism to push the national agenda.
Overall, we need to focus on key issues and pull in the same direction.
We all need to heed the clarion call by His Excellency, President ED Mnangagwa, to rally behind the ZANU PF Government in pursuing the national agenda.
The responsibility to drive our nation forward must be inculcated in our people.
When the nation prospers, we all prosper.
The national cake can be best shared when we have our priorities straight and realise what truly matters.
All Zimbabweans matter and our nation matters the most.
