‘We can still work together’

Son of the music legend Leonard Dembo, Tendai said his young brother Morgan needs to reform so that they can work together.  Morgan has been in the media for wrong reasons due to indiscipline and Tendai cut ties with his brother to go solo. Morgan has relocated to Chiredzi while Tendai has recorded a solo album titled “Kupa Kwashe” that will be launched tonight at Private Lounge.
“My position is simple, he needs to reform so that we can work together.

“His behaviour tarnishes our image and we cannot succeed as a band in bad light,” said Tendai.
“If he reforms I will work with him and we can move forward as a band but with his behaviour we cannot move,” he said.

Tracks that are on Tendai’s new album include “Chinun’una Kura,” “Muzvara Kamwe,” “Nhamo,” “Jennifer” and the title track.
Asked whether “Chinun’una Kura” was directed to Morgan or not, the musician said he had no intention to fight his brother adding that the song was general.

“I believe in this project and even my mother who worked with my father when he did his recordings said this album is right on track.
“When I went to DRC recently, people enjoyed my songs and kept requesting for the song ‘Nhamo’.”

Last year Tendai and Morgan released an album titled “Kutsika Matsimba” but it failed to make an impact on the local market.
Tendai has been staging meaningful shows in and outside Harare with other musicians and tonight sungura group Extra Kwazvose and Kireni Zulu will grace the launch.
