TINASHE NYAMUDOKA raised the country’s flag high last week when he won the World Blind Wine Tasting Championships for rookies in France.
He exhibited one of his brands called Kumusha Wines.
Nyamudoka, 37, who is based in South Africa, was part of the Zimbabwe World Blind Wine Tasting Championships team.
Nyamudoka, who grew up in rural Nyanga, defied the odds by setting up a winery company in South Africa before bringing it to Zimbabwe.
He has since opened various shops around the country,
In an interview with H-Metro, Nyamudoka encouraged youths to rise above limitations, and challenges, which come with life.
He believes Zimbabweans have the power to influence, and shine, wherever they go, as they have a unique way of doing things.
“We were the main attraction in France because we were from Zimbabwe.
“Many people are interested in and excited about Zimbabwe.
“I learnt that we are unique in our own way and the world can’t wait to hear our own story.”
He added: “I urge my fellow countrymen to always be proud of our identity.
“We have to carry our DNA and keep on influencing positivity worldwide. The competition put Zimbabwe on the map because of tourism.
“I have learnt a number of things, especially, using our own available resources like Zumbani and Mapfura, and I am looking forward to utilising them. I also sell wines in America, and the reception worldwide is overwhelming. And, coming back home, it is helping through job creation,” he said.
