Monday

The final consignment of multi-energy cancer treatment machines procured by the Government is expected in the country on Tuesday after the authorities successfully negotiated to airlift the 22-tonne cargo to bypass shipping disruptions in the Middle East. The arrival of the two high-capacity, multi-energy radiotherapy machines will complement two low-energy units already in the country and being installed at the nation’s primary referral centres.

Tuesday

The Government’s fuel price mitigation measures will remain in place as the country continues to monitor stability of supplies and cost pressures triggered by disturbances in the Middle East, Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube has said. Speaking on efforts to protect Zimbabweans from rising global fuel prices, Prof Ncube said measures introduced in March are still necessary to ensure both steady availability of fuel and containment of pump prices.

Wednesday

Constitutional Amendment Bill Number 3, tabled in the National Assembly yesterday, seeks to introduce reforms that will reinforce constitutional governance and strengthen the country’s democracy, Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi said. He made the remarks while tabling the Bill.

Thursday

President Mnangagwa has described Zimbabwe’s huge victory, which secured the country a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council during elections held at the UN headquarters in New York on Wednesday, as a “significant diplomatic milestone”. Zimbabwe garnered 182 out of 190 votes — the highest by any contesting country for the 2027-2028 term — to bring the curtain down on a hugely successful campaign.

Friday

Zimbabwe’s resounding victory, which secured the country a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council, is a win for the nation, President Mnangagwa has said. Speaking to the media at State House in Harare on Thursday, the President said the result was not about any individual, saying, “it’s not on my shoulders, it’s on the country’s”.
