At 36, Zimbabwean singer, actor and entrepreneur Trust Zengwa, popularly known as Wema, is steadily building a name for himself.
He is establishing himself as one of the country’s most versatile entertainers, successfully balancing careers in music, acting and fashion.
Wema has refused to confine himself to a single creative path.
Instead, he has chosen to pursue multiple passions while inspiring young people to embrace their talents.
His journey has seen him establish himself as a recording artist, venture into acting and launching business interests in the fashion industry.
The 36-year-old is the founder of 10K Music, a record label he created to promote his music while providing a platform for upcoming artists with dreams of breaking into the industry.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the label, Wema said his love for music motivated him to create opportunities not only for himself but for other talented musicians.
“I have always believed that music has the power to change lives. Founding 10K Music was my way of creating a platform where talent can grow without unnecessary limitations.
“I want to help artists reach their full potential,” he said.
He added that Zimbabwe is blessed with talented musicians who deserve better opportunities and professional guidance.
“There is so much talent in our country. Sometimes all an artist needs is someone who believes in them and gives them the right support. That is what I want 10K Music to represent,” he said.Besides making music, Wema has also ventured into acting, where he continues to develop his skills and broaden his reach in the entertainment industry.
He said acting has helped him become a more complete performer.
“Acting allows me to step into different characters and tell stories that people can relate to.
“It has also improved the way I perform my music because I have learned how to express emotions more naturally,” he said.
While many artists focus solely on entertainment, Wema has also established himself in the business world through Wemapgk Investments, a fashion brand that reflects his passion for style and creativity.
According to the entertainer, fashion is an important extension of his personality and artistic identity.
“I have always loved fashion because it is another way of expressing yourself.
“Through Wemapgk Investments, I want to create designs that inspire confidence and allow people to showcase their individuality,” he said.
He believes diversifying into business is essential for artists who want long-term success beyond the stage.
“As creatives, we should never rely on one source of income. It is important to invest in businesses that can continue growing while you pursue your artistic dreams,” he said.
Industry observers have noted that more Zimbabwean entertainers are branching into entrepreneurship, with fashion becoming one of the preferred sectors.
Wema believes this trend is helping artists build sustainable careers while creating employment opportunities for others.
He says discipline remains the foundation of everything he does.
“It takes commitment to balance different careers, but if you stay focused and remain consistent, anything is possible.
“Every day I work towards becoming better than I was yesterday,” he said.
Wema revealed that he is working on new music projects while pursuing more acting opportunities and expanding Wemapgk Investments into a recognised fashion brand.
“My goal is to leave a lasting legacy. I want people to remember me not just as a singer or an actor, but as someone who created opportunities and inspired others to believe in their dreams,” he said.
