A POLAND-BASED consultancy company, which is being accused of duping over 200 Zimbabweans and South Africans of more than US$100 000, has apologised and says it will refund everyone who sank money into its coffers.
Reports claim the company, Wise Wave, is owned by a Zimbabwean couple and has offices in Gweru and Johannesburg.
The applicants wanted to secure Polish study and work visas.
It is alleged that many of the applicants paid over US$500 each, to process their papers, but received nothing in return.
They say they were promised work permits, within three months of making the payments, but the company failed to deliver.
The company is accused of collecting over US$100 000 from the applicants.
Wise Wave Zoo has since issued an apology, through its Facebook page, for failing to deliver as promised.
The compaany said it will reimburse all those who were affected.
“We would like to extend our sincere apologies for failing to deliver our services up to the expected standards.
“It is with a heavy heart that we acknowledge our oversight and the disappointments it has caused.
“As a gesture of our commitment to your satisfaction, we want to inform you that we will be reimbursing the funds to all affected clients.
“Your support and understanding means everything to us, and we are dedicated to making things right.”
An applicant, who is a mother of three, said she sank all her savings in search of a breakthrough to work in Poland.
She said she spent a substantial amount travelling from Zimbabwe to South Africa for appointments at the Polish Embassy.
Another woman, who is studying at a local university, said she saw this as an opportunity to study abroad to further her studies.
“I dropped out of my studies in Zimbabwe to pursue this all that I have been doing is waiting without any hope.”
They are all set to be refunded, if the company remains true to its word, but they have already suffered a lot and their dreams have been shattered.
