WESSLY Madhevere picked up the first wicket for Zimbabwe against England following the end of the 22-year hiatus between the two nations.

Zimbabwe and England, facing off in a four-day Test match at Trent Bridge, had last played red-ball cricket against each other in 2002.

The 24 year old broke a 231-run opening wicket partnership between Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley when he had the former caught for 140 runs. It was Madhevere’s first over of the match and the first wicket in 22 years between the two nations.
