The Zifa Southern Region Div One Women’s League is bracing itself for a thrilling season, and Western Rangers’ free-scoring trio of Romain ‘Strictly come dancing’ Mhlanga, Gugulethu ‘The Ghost’ Ndlovu and 17 year-old Siphokazi ‘Twist and Shout’ Sibanda is already making its presence felt in the league.
Western Rangers werw crowned champions at the recent Bulawayo 2025 Fiesta Tournament that also featured Streetset, Loxion Vipers and Future Legends. In the group stages of the round robin tournament, Rangers edged Vipers 3-2 before just beating Lee ‘Sporo’ Mangena’s Streetset 1-0 to book a ticket to the final where they faced Future Legends.
In the final, Rangers were unstoppable, putting three past their opponents. In this tie, Sibanda scored a brace while Ndlovu svored the other goal.

This impressive performance marks a great start to their 2025 campaign, and with the trio of Mhlanga, Ndlovu and Sibanda exoected to make waves in the upcoming season.
Sibanda, who was at Mzimuni High School last year, announced herself as a force to be reckoned with by scoring an astonishing 11 goals in just four matches. Her teammates, Romain and Gugulethu, who were the club’s top two goal-scorers last season with 23 and 17 goals respectively, also got in on the act, scoring crucial goals during the recent Bulawayo 2025 Fiesta tournament.
The trio’s chemistry and understanding were evident throughout the tournament, and their goalscoring exploits have already sent excitement levels soaring among Western Rangers’ fans. With their pre-season tournament silverware already in the bag, the team will be looking to carry their momentum into the new season.

Western Rangers’ coach, Adonis Madimula was thrilled with his team’s performance and praised his free-scoring trio for their impressive display.
“Strictly come dancing, Ghost, and Twist and Shout were unstoppable during the tournament. Their goalscoring form is a huge boost for the team, and we’re excited to see what the new season holds for us,” Madimula told Zimpapers Sports Hub.
With their attacking trio firing on all cylinders, Western Rangers will be one of the teams to watch in the Zifa Southern Region Div One Women’s League this season.
