The World Food Programme has warned members of the public against a fake message circulating on X about digital cash assistance.
The message reads: “Hie, This message is brought to you by the World Food Program to assist in Digital Cash Assistance, please note that this money is strictly for groceries to help fight poverty in Zimbabwe.
However, if you are registered and waiting for your voucher card, simply type(Card number) and as for those who are not registered, type REGISTER with pictures of your ID Back and Front. WFP (THANK YOU, TATENDA, SIYABONGA.”
WFP dismissed the message and advised members of the public to ignore the message as it is fake and not from the official website.
“The message claiming to be from the World Food Programme is fake. Do not share your personal information or ID photos. Visit official WFP channels for accurate information on our programmes.
“Please note, all WFP assistance is free of charge,” said WFP.
