ZIMPAPERS will today host a wheat-based food security conference dubbed “Wheat Based Food Security: Zimbabwe’s Best Foot Forward.”
It starts at 8.30am and will end at about 2.30 pm.
Zimpapers CEO, Mr Pikirayi Deketeke, will officially open the conference, outlining the event’s objectives.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Professor Obert Jiri, will be the guest speaker.
Dr Tafadzwa Musarara, chairman of the Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe, will address guests on successful wheat farming and preserving foreign currency through import reduction.
Other speakers include, Grain Marketing Board CEO, Dr Edson Badarai, who will share with the guests input distribution and payment disbursements.
Engineer Edwin Zimunga, Chief Director of AEMID, will speak about agricultural engineering, mechanisation, and infrastructure development.
AFC Holdings Group CEO, Francis Macheka, will speak on winter wheat financing for a successful 2024 season.
The other keynote speakers are ZETDC Acting MD, Abel Gurupira, SEEDCO Commercial Director, Locadia Ganjani, and ZINWA CEO Eng Taurayi Maurikira.
