NEW YORK — The daughter of the late singer, Whitney Houston, is recovering in hospital after being found unconscious in a bathtub at her home outside Atlanta on Saturday morning and taken to a hospital, officials said.

Bobbi Kristina Brown was discovered by her husband and a friend at their house in the US state of Georgia.

It is almost three years since Whitney Houston was found dead in a bath at a hotel in Los Angeles.

A police officer took over “lifesaving measures,” and an ambulance took her to North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, said Lisa Holland, a spokeswoman for the Roswell police.

She said she did not know Ms Brown’s condition or whether she would survive.

Officers were at the home on Saturday investigating the episode, Holland said.

“Please keep her and the family in your thoughts and prayers,” the police said in a Facebook post.

A spokeswoman for North Fulton Hospital said she could not confirm any information about Bobbi.

Her mother, the Grammy Award-winning singer, died on February 11, 2012, at the age of 48. She was found submerged in a bathtub in a suite at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

She and Bobby Brown had a turbulent marriage that was depicted in a recent biopic, “Whitney,” that aired on Lifetime.

Their daughter made headlines in recent years for her relationship with her husband, Nick Gordon, a family friend who has said that Whitney Houston was like a mother to him.

In response to criticism that the pair were raised as siblings, Brown said that Bobbi had never adopted Gordon.

After her mother’s death, Bobbi starred in a reality show on Lifetime in 2012 called “The Houstons: On Our Own.” The show also featured Houston’s mother, Cissy Houston. — BBC/New York Times/HR.
