I WAS whiling up time on social media the other day, before I came across an interesting picture posted on Twitter by a friend, seeking an opinion on the subject. The picture was sub-titled “whose fault is it anyway? Should there be a strict dress code in church?” The picture (cartoon) was two-sided, it depicted the temptation faced by clergymen; where some pastors fall victim to sins of fornication, and backsliding caused by “fatal attraction” caused by the way women dress in church or outside.
On the other hand pastors are also to blame for not being strict with their congregants about how they dress.
Anyway I think we are all to blame. I have written several articles on how people should dress for church, but it would seem fashion is more important to them than spreading or listening to the gospel.
Perhaps it would be wise for me to define church; a church is a building used for religious activities, particularly worship services.
The term in its architectural sense is most often used by Christians to refer to their religious buildings but can be used by other religions. In simpler terms a church is a religious institution, place of worship, used by group of worshippers, usually Christians to give worship the Lord.
Back to the topic — Whose fault is it really? There are so much shenanigans going on in the church that have forced many people to leave, preferring to stay indoors on Sunday.
I mean no disrespect by saying this, but most of these misdemeanours seem to occur in non-conventional churches such as Pentecostal churches.
There have been many reports of pastors, mainly from Pentecostal churches being involved in activities, which they shouldn’t.
We have many a time read or heard about pastors fornicating, raping and defrauding people of their valuables, the major subject being that of fornication.
Who really is to blame here, this is a two-way thing and the responsibility has to be shared.
Personally I think we should all be all be put to blame. Think about it, pastors are ambassadors of society and are looked up to by society to promote and uphold its values; a job which I feel has turned into a money-making and baby-making project or competition.
For your own information most of these pastors are young and fake . . . be wary of them, as told in the Bible.
On the other hand we, as society are also to blame for this decadence. How can we let our daughters, wives, sisters and mothers waltz off to church scantily dressed?
Not just in church but when attending some of these prayer sessions with these pastors. How does one wind up lying face up with “a man of God” huffing and panting on top of you?
Anyway onto something less depressing . . . the man in the silver suit, I really can’t stop laughing . . . I don’t know whether that’s foil or a metal carved into a suit by our very own Vapostori? No pun intended . . .
Anyway the man looks absolutely ridiculous in that suit. If that was his wedding best then gosh he must have been a sight for sore eyes. He was literally silver from neck to toe . . . he somehow reminded me of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s hit 90s movie — Terminator, remember the shape shifting killer robot?
I normally don’t poke fun of people on this forum but this really can’t go on unnoticed.
I think he was both the groom and solar cooker on the day of his wedding. He was sparkly like the vampires from the Twilight movies series. Anyway when dressing for special occasions such as weddings, dress in a manner that will leave a lasting impression on the people around you. By that I mean elegantly not comically.
I’ll leave it there for this week.
