A MAN claims his second wife assaulted him after he gave her US$7 for monthly upkeep.
Tafadzwa Madzima said he gave his first wife the bulk of his monthly salary and was left with only US$7 to give to his second wife Pamela Nyama.
“On Tuesday last week, Pamela demanded money for groceries and l gave her US$7,” Tafadzwa told the Harare Civil Court.
“She showered me with insults, calling me useless and foolish.
‘I tried to explain the whole situation to her but the problem escalated, leading Pamela to assault me and insult my mother.
“She has been threatening to leave me if I do not give her money.
“I no longer have peace at work and home because she keeps demanding money. That’s why l want the court’s protection.”
In response, Pamela said:
“I assaulted him because he only gives his first wife money,” she said.
Magistrate Meenal Naratom granted Tafadzwa a protection order, barring Pamela from physically or emotionally abusing him.
Pamela was also ordered to stay away from Tafadzwa’s workplace.
