Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (43-2-1; 42) made a return to the ring when he smashed Robert “The Nordic Nightmare” Helenius (30-4; 19) to defeat at two minutes 57 seconds into the first round.
After a slow start to this WBC heavyweight title eliminator, Wilder scored with a big right hand to the head that left Helenius down and out on his back.

In a battle of former world champions, former IBF super middleweight champion Caleb “Sweethands” Plant (22-1; 13) won a ninth-round knockout against two-time WBC super-middleweight champion Anthony “The Dog” Dirrell (34-3; 25). The time was 2:57
WBC No 3, WBO No 3 and IBF No 7 heavyweight Frank Sanchez (21-0; 14) won on a ninth-round technical knockout over Carlos Negron (25-4; 20).
In an IBF bantamweight title eliminator, former IBF champion and IBF No 6 Manny Rodriguez (21-2; 13) won on a ninth-round technical decision after a clash of heads against Gary Russell.
Junior middleweight Vito Mielnicki Jr. (13-1; 8) won on points over 10 rounds against Limberth Ponce (19-6; 11) with scores of 98-92 and 99-91 twice.
WBA No 3 and IBF No 3 lightweight Michel “La Zarza Ali” Rivera (24-0; 14) scored an eight-round unanimous points decision over Jerry “The Joker” Pérez (14-2; 11). The scores were 79-72 twice and 80-71. Perez was down in round eight.
Heavyweight Gurgen “Big Gug” Hovhannisyan (4-0, 4) stopped Michael Coffie (13-3; 10) in the sixth round.
HANEY WINS AGAIN
In a return match, undisputed lightweight world champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (29-0; 15) scored a one-sided 12-round unanimous points decision over former champion “Ferocious” George Kambosos Jr. (20-2; 10) on Saturday night at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia.The scores were 119-109 and 118-110 twice.– SuperSport.
