AFTER the resounding success of Doek & Slay, Fiesta Fiesta organisers are under pressure to match the standards which were set on Sunday.
Just like record-breaking Doek & Slay event, which attracted more than 10 000 people, the latest Fiesta Fiesta show will held at Alex Sports Club in Milton Park on Saturday.
South African DJ Dlala Thukzin will headline the event. The Doek & Slay organisers had Jah Prayzah as their headline act.
Fiesta Fiesta is celebrating its seventh anniversary and is returning to its original concept of being a DJ-based event.
Some of the DJs to hit the stage include DJ Zulu, Chucknosis, DJ Storm and Madeherbeliver.
Fiesta Fiesta is now back to three to four events per year.
Chuckie “DJ Chucknosis” Kofi-Teye Ayisha, the brains behind Fiesta Fiesta, said they are having two celebrations, one on Saturday and the other one in October.
“The reason why they are two celebrations this year is because the economy is not as a stable as it used to be.
“We are returning Fiesta-Fiesta to its basics, which is DJ-based, we are done experimenting with artists and we did not get the value with artists like the DJs.
“A lot of artists, both local and international, disappointed fans.
“At the moment DJ Dlala Thukzin is one of the biggest DJs in South Africa which is why we are bringing him here, he has the songs and is an amazing performer.”
