WILL GREEN FUEL END THE SEASON UNBEATEN AT HOME?

GREEN Fuel are on the cusp of completing the season without losing a match at their fortress in Chisumbanje.

It is a rare feat which they had enjoyed with Simba Bhora who finally lost their grip when they stumbled to a 0-2 loss at the hands of FC Platinum last weekend.

This leaves Green Fuel as the only side which could finish the campaign unbeaten at their fortress.

It will inject more life to their party as they will also be celebrating maintaining their Castle Lager Premiership slot for the second season on the bounce.

With just a game to play before the season ends, Green Fuel are four points off the red zone. They are hosting Dynamos in their final fixture of the season.

Adrian Silla has been at the forefront of Green Fuel’s battles this campaign.

He left Bosso and Makepekepe where he was deemed a black sheep.

And, many never gave him a chance when he joined Green Fuel at the start of this campaign when he was bailed out by Rodwell Dhlakama.

The defensive midfielder has not made headlines for wrong reasons this season, something which implies that Dhlakama succeeded in whipping him into line.

Silla has been the team’s standout player. The 28-year-old remained dedicated even when Dhlakama left the club to join Hwange towards the mid-season break.

Donald Ngoma is another player who has taken matters into his own hands, scoring six times.
Tashinga Pfende was the key man in the heart of Green Fuel’s defence.

The Legends Academy graduate played a key role in ensuring that the club dodges relegation waters.
Club chairman Fred Moyo said:

“We are quite relieved and excited that the team has achieved its primary objective, which is to avoid relegation.

“It has been a tough season but the boys punched above their weight for us to achieve our goal and it is always good to play your last game of the season without the pressure of winning it.

“The boys know the significance of ending the season without losing at home better than anyone, they know what it means to the fans and I believe it is something we can achieve if we can keep our eyes on the ball,” said Moyo.
