WILL Walter Musona extend his unique record against Highlanders at Barbourfields on Sunday?
The two teams clash in a Chibuku Super Cup quarter-final showdown at Barbourfields on Sunday.
The Scottland skipper has transformed himself into Bosso’s worst nightmare since he made his Castle Lager Premiership debut in the 2013 campaign.
Musona has never finished a season without scoring against Bosso.
It had appeared as if this was going to be the first season when that run would come to an end after he failed to score in their two league fixtures this campaign.
Musona has scored against Bosso as a Motor Action, FC Platinum and Simba Bhora player.
He is enduring an indifferent campaign, at least, by his high standards.
His ability to strike against Bosso began in his debut season during the 2013 campaign when he scored a brilliant free-kick to force a 1-1 draw for the Mighty Bulls.
The goal ruined Bosso’s championship dreams and they eventually lost the title race to Dynamos.
He also ended Bosso’s unbeaten run, which had stretched to 19 games, three years ago, when the giants were cruising along nicely.
Musona was also on target against the same side last year when he scored the winning goal in Simba Bhora’s 2-1 win over Bosso.
Musona said helping the team to progress is his primary concern.
“I want to urge fans to come in numbers to enjoy this big fixture. I know I have been scoring against Highlanders and it is something that gives me confidence ahead of this match but helping the team to progress is more important than personal glory at this moment.
“I also want to urge fans from both ends to accept the outcome, as players we also have to be responsible in our actions.”
