Thousands of people thronged Borrowdale Racecourse on Saturday for the draw of the 27th edition of the OK Zimbabwe grand challenge jackpot promotion, which had a record 44 cars up for grabs.
Lucky winners also walked away with residential stands and various cash prices.
Mr Todd Mutukwa (44) of Glen View 7, Harare, scooped the grand prize of a brand new Nissan Navara twin cab.
Zimpapers was among the companies participating in the grand challenge and its lucky winner Mr Constantine Masango of Glen Norah, Harare, won the brand new Nissan NP300.
Readers were supposed to cut out a form after buying any of the participating titles from the stable, fill it and deposit it at any OK Zimbabwe store countrywide.
The Zimpapers draw was conducted by the firm’s Harare branch general manager Mr Samuel Bepe.
It was all joy for the grand prize winner, Mr Mutukwa, a father of five, who told The Herald that he could not believe his ears when his name was announced after last attending the final draw in 2013.
“I was so surprised and could not believe it. I have been shopping at OK for so many years but never bothered to attend the final draw except in 2013 and this year despite always entering the competition,” he said.
He said the lucky coupon was acquired at OK Marondera where he bought groceries valued at over $200 for his children who were going to school on May 4 this year.
