A 27-year-old Bulawayo woman has appeared in court for allegedly hitting a complainant with an empty beer bottle, once on the face over a misunderstanding.
Sisasenkosi Dube of Pumula South, appeared before Western Commonage magistrate, Mr Jeconia Prince Ncube, on Tuesday charged with assault.
Dube was remanded in custody to March 3 while waiting for a medical report.
Prosecuting, Ms Cathrine Kuzu, said the incident happened on Sunday (February 22, 2026) at around 10.30PM in Pumula Old when the accused person and complainant, Thulani Try Nkomazana (30), had a misunderstanding.
The court heard that due to the misunderstanding, the accused person hit the complainant once on the face with an empty beer bottle.
As a result of the assault the complainant sustained a cut on the face and was referred to hospital for medical attention, said Ms Kuzu.
A police report was made leading to the arrest of the accused person, added Ms Kuzu.
