A woman from Bulawayoas Nketa 7 suburb is having sleepless nights after her boyfriendas wife beat her up and took away her shoe declaring that she was taking it to Tanzania for bewitchment purposes.

The small-house, Sithokozile Chigiji (40) fears for her life following the incident.

It is reported that Chigiji had an affair with a married man Conwell Mubaiwa who stays three houses away from her.

The wife, Portia Mupfudze (37), met the two lovebirds walking together and meted instant justice on the woman before a?confiscatinga? her shoe.

Chigiji rushed to report the issue to police, leading to Mupfudzeas arrest.

Mupfudze appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Tancy Dube facing assault charges and she pleaded guilty.

She was sentenced to 20 days imprisonment or $50 fine.

The court heard that on 1 August at around 9pm, Mupfudze met her husband walking with Chigiji and was not amused.

She then slapped her rival resulting in her falling down and she took advantage of that and thoroughly beat her up.

The man, realising that his girlfriendas life was in danger, intervened and restrained his wife.

Chigiji then managed to flee leaving her shoe behind.

Efforts to catch up with the rival failed as she sought refuge at a certain house. Portia took the shoe saying she would take it to Tanzania.

However, Chigiji tried to justify her behaviour saying she started having an affair with Mubaiwa after he had lied to her claiming to have separated with Mupfudze. .
