A FEMALE drunkard awaits sentence in custody after she assaulted a fellow drinker and bit her on her upper lip at a local bar last week. Sekai Fifu (46) of Matida Flats in Sakubva pleaded guilty to the charges of assault when she appeared before Mutare magistrate, Mr Langton Mukwengi. Fifu admitted biting Maizivei Bambana after a beer drinking binge at Bako Bar in Sakubva.
Prosecuting was Mr Cuthbert Bhosha. “With a reason unknown to the State, Fifu bit Bambana’s upper lip with the intention of causing bodily harm and realising that there was real risk in her actions,” said Bhosha.
Bambana sustained an open wound on her upper lip and was medically examined. Responding to the allegations, Fifu told the court that her actions were as a result of Bambana provoking her. Fifu was remanded to November 5 pending sentence.
